04/29/10 Tale of a Happy Cow and a Carefree Calf

| More

The fourth lecture from the cycle "Tales from the Plate" will take place on April 29, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Cultural Information Centre, Preradoviceva ulica 5, Zagreb.

Please, ask yourself this question: what is it that you know about the world around you and what is it that you want to believe about it? And then ask yourself: if I learn something new about the world around me, will that shake my present belief?

But don't ask yourself these questions in solitude – accept this invitation and come to the place where you will be able to test them on the spot.

All cow mothers and their children – calves – have been given an opportunity to tell you their story within an hour on April 29 at 7:00 P.M. – the "Tale of a Happy Cow and a Carefree Calf" – and they are asking you to listen.

They are not even aware of how difficult it is to hear their voice... through that huge myth about milk that our civilization has created and that our childhoods have been permeated with, through all that we were taught by people who loved us and wished us good.

They are not aware of how difficult it is to hear their voice through the extraordinarily powerful and incessant messages of the milk industry, which we are stuffed with from all sides – the television, our medical doctors, our schools, and the shelves of our stores.

They are not aware of the fact that their voice is unable to penetrate the walls of our cynicism, sarcasm, and cold rationalizing.

This time they have been given another chance.

Their only hope is that you might want to listen to their story.

So come with your heart open, for them and for yourself.

See you there,

Vedran Romac
