06/22/19 Vegan Burger Tasting Held in Zagreb
Animal Friends organized a tasting of food that caused a sensation around the world
- On June 22 at the Flower Square, the world attraction in the production of vegetable meat was grilled
Saturday, June 22, 2019, the holiday, sunny day, was ideal for barbecue in the center of Zagreb. Since 11 am, the alluring scent of vegan burgers that Animal Friends prepared was spreading through Flower Square, offered for tasting to interested and curious citizens.
This is the first vegan burger made from pea protein, which, thanks to beetroot extract, emits a "bloody" juice, and thus tastes, smells, textures and looks reminiscent of animal meat burgers, and because of its composition, it is ecological and much more ethical and healthier.
"This is a burger that is being talked about all over the world and is hinting at an animal-free future. The hopeful sensation is that as inhabitants of this planet we will resist hunger, climate change, water scarcity, deforestation, the diseases of today caused by eating meat, milk and eggs, as well as torturing animals on farms and the horrors of slaughter in slaughterhouses", said Emanuela Poturica from Animal Friends.
Herbal burgers are far superior to animal meat because of their composition - they are made up of quality vegetable proteins, full of minerals and vitamins, and contain no saturated fatty acids, cholesterol, genetically modified ingredients, nitrates and, moreover, contain more protein and only 250 calories.
In addition to the ethical and health benefits, a vegan burger is also more environmentally friendly because it requires 99% less water, 93% less land, 46% less energy input and 90% less carbon dioxide that is responsible for the greenhouse effect.
"Vegan versions of traditional and modern meals are suitable for everyone, regardless of their diet," Poturica points out, adding: "Everyone can feel the benefits of a plant-based diet, whether they reach for finished products or simply visit the market and enjoy a variety of vegetables, cereals, legumes, along with seeds and fruits, and prepare great, cheap and healthy meals for everyone.”
In addition to plant-based milk, yogurts, cheeses, sausages, frankfurters, salami and other vegan products, plant-based meat variations are now strikingly similar to animal meat, so that those who eat meat can make a partial or complete transition to a plant-based diet.
"Vegan food is the formula of our sustainability on this planet; it is food that can provide us peace, compassion, health and survival, food for all of us. Therefore, a vegan burger hides a lot more in its background than its attractiveness and good taste. Each of our choices for plant-based products is a good deed to our planet and everyone on it”, said Animal Friends.
Animal Friends urged everyone to see for themselves the rich aroma and texture of a unique vegan burger, and also invited everyone to try a Vegan challenge, which can be signed up for through www.veganopolis.net.
Animal Friends also invite to this year's ZeGeVege festival, which will take place on September 6 and 7 at Ban Jelacic Square in Zagreb, which many can't wait to see.
