Petition to ban bottom trawls in Croatia
With this signature, I demand an immediate ban on bottom trawls in order to protect the marine ecosystem, species biodiversity and life in the sea, prevent acidification and pollution of the sea, and climate change.
I believe that bottom trawlers should be banned immediately, because, they, like sea bulldozers, grab and destroy everything in their path, which is a huge threat to marine animals, including corals, and the already endangered marine vegetation. Animals that get entangled in their nets die in agony. Trawlers emit a huge amount of carbon dioxide and have a significant impact on climate change.
The legal regulation related to the use of trawls does not produce results, therefore I appeal to Croatia as soon as possible to follow other countries that have already completely banned trawling in their seas.
