06/03/24 Go for a burger, falafel, gelato, cake... at the VeggieFair!
Prelude to the ZeGeVege festival with an even larger number of exhibitors
- June 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.: vegan oasis on the European Square in Zagreb
With a record number of exhibitors, the 13th VeggieFair will green up and delicious smell will spread across Zagreb's European Square on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Many exhibitors will present their completely plant-based products and dishes, as well as cosmetics that do not contain any animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals. There will be a long line in front of the restaurant part of VeggieFair, where restaurants will offer several types of plant-based burgers, falafel, pad thai, fried rice with vegetables, stews, refreshing juices to boost immunity and vegan cakes. Visitors will be able to learn the difference between ice cream and gelato through more than 10 flavours of gelato, which, like everything else at VeggieFair, will be completely of plant origin.
With appropriate promotions, discounts and tastings, visitors will see for themselves how versatile, delicious and attractive vegan food is to everyone. From the educational panels and at the stands of the association, the visitors will also be able to learn everything about how switching to vegan products and dishes significantly affects the reduction of climate change, consumption of water and other natural resources, and pollution of the environment. The recently published "(R)evolution of meat" guide will also be available at VeggieFair.
According to the organizers Animal Friends Croatia, vegan food is not only an ethical choice but also a much healthier choice. At VeggieFair, everyone will have the opportunity to taste and fill their canvas tote bags with a variety of vegan foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, but at the same time low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Numerous medical and nutritional studies have proven that increasing the proportion of plant foods in an individual's diet increases the chances of a longer life by as much as 21%!
"Vegan food can improve our health and increase your energy. If you're sceptical, it's time to discover the incredible possibilities that vegan food has to offer. Come and try just as delicious and juicy meals as the ones you are used to. The entire range of foods and dishes that will be offered at the VeggieFair can satisfy even the most demanding palate. It is encouraging that with a very small change in choice, each of us can make a big impact on our health and ecology, but also save the lives of animals," said Vlatka Balaš Cerjak, project coordinator at the Animal Friends Croatia association.
The organization of VeggieFair is on a non-profit basis and aims to educate the public. Animal Friends Croatia invites everyone who wants and can help to apply for volunteering and thus participate in creating a great atmosphere that will attract, as every year so far, thousands of visitors for whom a visit to VeggieFair can change their lives for the better, and the whole event will have an impact on saving the planet and all animals on it.
It is an interesting and delicious prelude to the ZeGeVege festival of sustainable living, which starts on September 6, also in Zagreb's European Square. Both events will take place under the auspices of the City of Zagreb.
