04/09/24 Goran Višnjić Invites All to March for Animals!
Goran Višnjić, Animal Friends Croatia, and Pobjeda Association invite you to join them at the 4th March for Animals
- On Saturday, April 13, starting at 11 am, Tomislavac: “We must stand up for animals”
Organized by Animal Friends Croatia and Pobjeda Association, March for Animals starts at 11 am on April 13 at the Zagreb Trg kralja Tomislava. March participants will become the voices of all oppressed and invisible beings that share this world with us. The organizers point out that these are animals that are killed by the food processing industry, that we wear as clothes, use in tests, or for sheer entertainment, animals we abuse and abandon, even though we are aware of their suffering. In an emotional video actor Goran Višnjić invited all to join the loud crowd: “Animals have no voice of their own – we are the ones to stand up for them, speak up for them. I believe that, as the strongest species on this planet, it is humans who must safeguard this world, preserve nature, safekeep animals, instead of exploiting, abusing, and taking. I believe animals are our companions who should live by our side and not for us.”
Animal Friends Croatia states that today, animals are oppressed by humans to such a degree that the rights of conscious individuals and their clear desire to live their own lives are completely lost in their mass exploitation. They are regarded as consumables, rather than individuals with their needs and desires.
They add that abusers, killers, and those neglecting animals are not penalized. “We all have to stand up for this,” state Animal Friends Croatia: “Croatia needs to change its legislation and establish animal protection inspections. Croatia needs to improve its Animal Protection Act, as well as regulate exotic animal keeping. Among the necessary changes are a ban on logging competitions and dog chaining. There is a plethora of reasons why you should join the March for Animals, simply find your own!”
Pobjeda Association reminds us of the strength humans hold in their hands (and voices) and how important it is to fight on animals’ behalf: “There is so much that we can do, and every step forward is a significant step for animals. Come and join our loud voices speaking up for those who need our help! Let us not condone excuses, let us demand solutions! The changes we propose have the potential to save billions of animal lives.”
