Animal Friends will organize a protest in Zagreb against fur farms and the wearing of fur coats.

Date: Thursday, November 29
Time: 12:00 noon
Location: Ban Jelacic Square in Zagreb

It is almost impossible to describe the cruelty involved in the production of fur. Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives confined to tiny, filthy cages, where they suffer from stress and boredom before they are killed by anal or vaginal electrocution, strangling, poisoning by gas or neck-breaking. Some animals are still fully conscious when they are skinned alive.

All of this is happening in an era in which countless cruelty-free fashionable materials are available and there is no reason to wear corpses around our neck and cause extreme cruelty to animals. What does the warmth of fur mean if our hearts are cold!

Croatia is a big producer of chinchilla fur. For just one fur coat, up to two hundred chinchillas need to be killed. In just six months the fur farm Chinchilla d.o.o. produced 10.5 ton of animal corpses. Knowing that a chinchilla is a very small animal, this is a horrifying number. Not only do animals have to suffer immensely for a fur coat, but there is also the issue of the chemicals used to process and protect fur, and the waste disposal.

When you buy a fur coat, you support cruelty to animals and the environment. Can anyone find an excuse for such crime? Animals in the wild are captured in steel-jaw traps, which perforate their paws and their body. Some may suffer for days before the hunters return and bludgeon them to death or break their neck. Non-targeted animals, such as dogs and cats, also often become a victim of these traps.

Please help animals by informing he public and making them aware of these facts. Help us to stop the unnecessary suffering of animals!
