05/24/24 Health & Sustainability at VeggieFair
- 8 June 2024, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.: presenting vegan street food; exhibitors of healthy food, vegan delicacies, and cruelty-free cosmetics
Animal Friends Croatia cordially invites all gourmets and lovers of healthy food and sustainable living to the 13th VeggieFair. It will be held on Saturday, 8 June 2024, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Zagreb's European Square, which will be full of restaurants and exhibitors who will attract visitors with tastings and promotions.
“Join us for this unique all-day event to celebrate vegan food and products together. At VeggieFair, you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of plant-based delicacies prepared using fresh, local, and organic ingredients and to get to know domestic and foreign manufacturers and suppliers of vegan products and cosmetics that have not been tested on animals. Whether you're a vegetarian or vegan, or you're simply curious and open to positive change, VeggieFair offers something for everyone. Come, invite your family and friends, and spend a day filled with gastronomic delight, education, and entertainment,” said the organizers of VeggieFair, Animal Friends Croatia.
As stated by the organizers, every visitor coming to the European Square on 8 June 2024 is taking a step towards a healthier and more sustainable world. Veganism is not just a dietary choice, but a way of life that has many benefits for our health and the planet. A vegan diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts, can reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. It can also help maintain a healthy body weight and improve digestion.
By choosing vegan food, we reduce animal suffering and exploitation, and promote compassion and respect for all living beings. The production of plant-based food requires significantly fewer natural resources compared to the production of meat, eggs, and dairy products. Reduced water consumption, decreased greenhouse gas emissions, and forest conservation are just a few of the many environmental benefits of a vegan diet.
Holders of the V-Label mark will also be presented at the VeggieFair. V-Label is the most widespread label that has been awarded to vegan products worldwide for more than 20 years, and it is becoming more and more popular among Croatian manufacturers as well. Its primary objective is to enable consumers to easily identify products that don’t contain ingredients of animal origin and make them more appealing to everyone. Animal Friends Croatia is the representative of this label in Croatia.
VeggieFair also serves as a preamble to the 15th ZeGeVege festival of sustainable living, which will be held starting on 6 September 2024, also at Zagreb's European Square.
